Seedance 2.5 API Access

On this site, Seedance 2.5 API access is account-scoped: sign in, create an API key, and jobs are submitted asynchronously through this site's server with your session plus a Bearer credential. This page covers fields, limits, costs, and the server-to-server option.

How it works

How Seedance 2.5 API access works here

There is no standalone public developer API on this site. Instead, every signed-in account can create an API key from Dashboard → API Keys. The studio then sends generation requests through this site's server using your signed-in session together with an Authorization: Bearer header carrying that key. Jobs are asynchronous: submit a request, receive a task id, poll until done, then download the clip from history.

Get an API key

Sign in and open Dashboard → API Keys to create a key. Keep it secret — the key identifies your account and the credit balance your jobs draw from.

Async by design

Seedance 2.5 jobs are queued rather than synchronous. Submit the request, store the returned task id, poll the status until the clip is ready, then download the result from history.

Credit-checked requests

Credits are checked before generation starts, so a request can never outrun your balance. At zero credits, requests stop until you top up — the same balance the studio uses.

For server backends

If you need to call Seedance from your own backend, our sister site seedanceapi.org offers a REST API with Bearer auth and async jobs. At the time of writing its public v2 API lists Seedance 2.0, 2.0 Fast and 2.0 Mini — check its docs for Seedance 2.5 status.

Request fields

Seedance 2.5 request body

A minimal job is a JSON object sent with your API key as a Bearer credential. This is a 5-second, 720p, 16:9 text-to-video request:

{
  "model": "seedance-2.5",
  "prompt": "A golden retriever running through tall grass at sunrise, slow tracking shot",
  "duration": 5,
  "resolution": "720p",
  "aspect_ratio": "16:9",
  "generate_audio": true
}
  • model — use "seedance-2.5".
  • prompt — required, up to 5,000 characters.
  • duration — 1–30 seconds; use -1 for video edit, which needs exactly one input video of 4–30 seconds and aspect_ratio: "adaptive".
  • resolution — "480p" or "720p".
  • aspect_ratio — "16:9", "9:16", "4:3", "3:4" or "adaptive".
  • images — up to 4 reference image URLs.
  • reference_video_urls / reference_audio_urls — up to 3 each.
  • generate_audio — optional flag.

Credits are checked before generation; at zero balance requests stop. The full field reference lives in the docs.

Cost per job

Seedance 2.5 API credit costs

API jobs use the same credit meter as the studio: per-second billing, converted here at the pay-as-you-go rate of 100 credits per $1.

JobCredits≈ USD at PAYG rate
Text-to-video, per second at 480p28 credits≈ $0.28
Text-to-video, per second at 720p63 credits≈ $0.63
With an input video, per second at 480p17 credits≈ $0.17
With an input video, per second at 720p38 credits≈ $0.38
5 s 720p text-to-video job315 credits≈ $3.15
15 s 720p text-to-video job945 credits≈ $9.45
30 s 720p text-to-video job1,890 credits≈ $18.90

Three steps

From key to finished clip

1

Create an API key

Sign in, open Dashboard → API Keys, and create a key. Requests go through this site's server with your session and the Bearer credential.

2

Submit a job

Send the request body with model, prompt, duration, resolution and ratio — plus optional reference media — and keep the task id that comes back.

3

Poll and download

Poll the task status until the job completes. The finished clip lands in your account history, where you can review and download it.

API access here is tied to your account balance — requests stop at zero credits. For a standalone REST API with server-to-server Bearer auth, use our sister site seedanceapi.org and check its documentation for Seedance 2.5 availability.

How do I get a Seedance 2.5 API key?

Sign in to your account, open Dashboard → API Keys, and create a key. Send it as an Authorization: Bearer credential; it authenticates against your account and its credit balance.

What parameters does Seedance 2.5 support?

model, prompt (required, up to 5,000 characters), duration 1–30 (−1 for video edit with one 4–30 s input video and adaptive ratio), resolution 480p or 720p, aspect_ratio 16:9 / 9:16 / 4:3 / 3:4 / adaptive, up to 4 reference images, up to 3 reference video and audio URLs each, and an optional generate_audio flag.

The same per-second rates as the studio: 28 credits per second at 480p and 63 at 720p, or 17 and 38 per second when an input video is supplied. A 5-second 720p job is 315 credits.

Can I call Seedance 2.5 from my backend server?

This site's access is built around the signed-in studio flow. For server-to-server integration, our sister site seedanceapi.org provides a REST API with Bearer auth and async jobs — at the time of writing its public v2 API lists Seedance 2.0, 2.0 Fast and 2.0 Mini, so check its docs for Seedance 2.5 status.

Is this ByteDance's official Seedance API?

No. seedance-25-ai.com is an independent third-party site. Seedance is a model family from ByteDance's Seed team; this page describes this site's own account API access.
